Tabbed as "An Aquarian Experience, 3 days of peace and music", Woodstock has to be one of the most iconic musical moments of the 1960s. A time period steeped in social animosity between the Vietnam War, racial segregation and police brutality; Woodstock was something never before seen. Half a million people came to the festival and partook in several days of sex, drugs and rock n roll. I think this is one of the most important musical moments of the 1960's because of how synonymous it is with the 1960's and the counterculture in general. Even today, people still make references to Woodstock, and i believe that's largely due to the after shock of the music festival. So many great performers, so many people in attendance, and only a handful of police working the venue represents what this generation really stood for. Even though spurts of violence erupted here and there, the peaceful concert was a representation of what the counterculture stood for.  I have linked Creedence Clearwater Revival's video from Woodstock because I feel like a lot of their songs had a heavy influence on the time period.
