Welcome to the Blogger site for MU247 History of Rock, summer 2019 iteration (https://mu247.blogspot.com/).
This blog is for you to comment on the material, make connections to your own lives and musical preferences, and get discussions going with your peers. I encourage you to share thoughts, music, videos, and experiences about the class, its topics, and related issues.

*What I need immediately is your gmail address name (mine, for example, is wellis1907@gmail.com). Please send it to me via your Canvas inbox or to my school email, wellis@smcvt.edu. Once I have it, I will send an invitation to your gmail account. All you need to do is accept the invite to be added as an author to the blog and begin posting.
Like any blog, the site is only as good as its latest postings, so refresh this page with weekly contributions, by which I mean posts and responses. Each student is expected to post an item at least once a week and respond in the comments section to at least two posts by peers and/or the professor weekly. So bookmark this page and check in often. Check as well the weekly blog prompts in each module.
Grading is based on the timeliness, frequency, and quality of your postings. I only ask that you be respectful of language, tone, and gesture in what and how you say things. Also, beware of suspect websites when linking to content (YouTube and Vimeo links are typically okay but vet everything before posting a link).
Your first assignment/prompt (for Week 1, due by 11:59 p.m. Sunday, July 7th): Introduce yourself to the class (as text, audio, video, or all the above), telling us your name, hometown, why you chose this course, a favorite artist or song of yours (include a music link by clicking on either the "link" or "insert a video" icon in the tool bar), and what you hope to learn about rock's history. Please put your last name in the post heading (e.g., “Ellis Blog 1”).
